The Alamo Council was pleased to host the Lone Star Regional Conference for the first time in “Military City, USA”. The conference touched on many of the priority issues facing our maritime services as budget items are presented to Congress. We were honored to have several key leaders in attendance: National President of the US Navy League, CAPT David Reilly, USN (Ret.); Senior Vice President for Military Affairs with USAA, VADM John Bird, USN (Ret.); Chairman of the Board, Navy Sea Cadets, RADM Tim Moon, USN (Ret.); Lone Star Region President, RADM Cub Amos, USN (Ret.); Senior Vice President Field Operations, SgtMaj Jerry Saunders, USMC (Ret.); Director of Legislative Affairs with the US Navy League, Mr. Luke Lorenz. Among the many highlights was a contingent of the Alamo Battalion Sea Cadets commemorating POW/MIA in a solemn ceremony.
